Joy Orbison:

If there's one name that has the world of Dubstep, or any of it's associated genres for that matter, frozen in slack-jawed awe right now, it's surely Peter O'Grady, aka Joy Orbison.

Off the back of only two tracks, Hyph Mngo and Wet Look, Joy Orb has cooked up a frighteningly fierce storm of excitement around his music.

Just listening to his shockingly fresh and euphoric take on 2-Step and Dubstep, it's really not hard to understand why..

Warpaint:

Warpaint

Just listen to their songs.. all full of crazy abandon, lo-fi harmonics and that terribly soft, belly-ripping quiet..

The LA quartet just signed to Rough Trade Records and are more than likely to deliver something spectacular with their debut LP, due next year..

Elephants - Warpaint
Billie Holiday - Warpaint

Fiction:

Fiction

With little more than a precious 5 track promo to their name, this London band have thrown up some of the most exciting songs I've heard all year.

Encompassing everything from sumptuous, experimental psych to punch-your-lights-out drum patterns and doses of unruly bounce and energy, Fiction conjure something rarely heard: perfect, anarchic pop...

Zebra Crossing - Fiction
Nothing Is Heavy - Fiction
Tooth Fairy - Fiction

Two Door Cinema Club:

Believe me when I say that Two Door Cinema Club are sitting on the biggest pop record of 2010...

This is the first single to be taken from their debut LP, to be released early next year on Kitsuné Maison. Let the obsession begin...

I Can Talk - Two Door Cinema Club
I Can Talk (Crystal Fighters Remix) - Two Door Cinema Club

Surfer Blood:

Palm Beach, Florida can be a pretty dull place. Spend any time there and you quickly realise that there's not much beyond its endless stretches of concrete sidewalks, rows of fast food outlets, McMansions and unwavering flatness.

Strange then that it should throw up a band quite as refreshing, or exiting, as Surfer Blood.

This bright 5-piece feel like a ready-made American classic. Their songs are at once instantly familiar and searingly fresh, somehow recognisable and yet at their very core, undeniably and restlessly aspirational.

Their debut album 'Astro Coast' drops January 19th..

Floating Vibes - Surfer Blood
Swim (To Reach The End) - Surfer Blood

El Perro Del Mar:

Check this bizarrely compelling video for the new El Perro Del Mar single 'Change Of Heart'.

Taken from 'Love Is Not Pop'.

Egyptian Hip Hop:

Egyptian Hip Hop

This 4-piece sound like the very beginning..

Their demos hang together so delicately, you can't but help feel nervous..

Nervous in the hope that what sounds so beguiling now, will still inspire later, and what was discovered in the basements and back rooms of Manchester, isn't lost in the swell..

Signed to the ace Hit Club

Fresh (Demo) - Egyptian Hip Hop
Heavy Heaven (Demo) - Egyptian Hip Hop
Dust (Bedroom Demo) - Egyptian Hip Hop

Make sure you pick up the rather awesome Rad Pitt

Primary 1 + Memory Tapes:

Primary 1 releases brand new single 'Foaming' on 7" next month.

You can pick up the red vinyl over at Rough Trade, but be quick, only 100 pressings are being released worldwide, each with a unique painting on the sleeve.

Here we have the b-side, a rework from the quite excellent Memory Tapes

Foaming (Memory Tapes Remix) - Primary 1

Ali Love:

Ali Love

Londoner Ali Love drops this wonderful slice of minimal disco on 16th November through Back Yard Recordings.

You can pick up the original over at Big Stereo, but here we have a sensational rework from AZARI & III...

Diminishing Returns (AZARI & III Remix) - Ali Love

Blood Orange:

Blood Orange

The new project from former Test Icicles member, and Lightspeed Champion front-man, Dev Hynes.

This time around though things are altogether darker with Dev moving away from the cleaner, pop-orientated sounds of his Lightspeed outings in search of processed beats and creeping strings.
